The High Priest of Nath-Horthath knows more about the gods than any other living being in Celephaïs. There is a turquoise temple of Nath-Horthath, where there are eighty priests wreathed with orchids. The chief god of Celephaïs is Nath-Horthath. Galleys from the port of Celephaïs go everywhere in the Dreamlands, but especially to the cloud-city Serannian. The city exports spun gold, carved jade, red singing birds and many other things. Important landmarks in Celephaïs are the turquoise Temple of Nath-Horthath, the Street of Pillars and rose-crystal Palace of Seventy Delights, which is the seat of King Kuranes. Pale marble walls are crowned by bronze statues and golden minarets. Onyx imported from Inquanok paves the streets and is used to construct and clad many impressive buildings. Serannian floats above the Cerenerian Sea, a short distance from Celephaïs.Ĭelephaïs is one of the most impressive cities in the Dreamlands. Celephaïs was created by Kuranes, the greatest of all recorded dreamers. The largest city of the Dreamlands, situated on the western shore of the Eastern continent in the valley of Ooth-Nargai, at the mouth of the Naraxa.
